I am a Southerner by birth, transformed into a Northerner due to the fact I've lived in Chicago for the past 10 years. I am a curious, well-read, well-traveled, independent woman. I tend to have strong opinions and do not hesitate to share said opinions with friends and family. One of my Southern friends lovingly refers to this opinion-share as me "getting on my soapbox", hence the name for this blog.
